I wanted to implement a project like this:
PSTN/E1(PRI/GSM) Bluetower Gateway1/Asterisk Server/E1ALCATEL 4200
I spent 4 days trying to make it with Trixbox (I wished it works with trixbox because of the number of features bundled with it) but all I got working was having the LEDs on the two E1/T1 cards turn green.
All seemed to be ok, but i couldn't pass calls from pstn to Trixbox nor from Alcatel 4200 to Trixbox.
I finally took another HDD (because I want to later debug the probe with trixbox in the first HDD) and downloaded AsteriskNOW (it took almost 2 hours) then i burned it on a CD (10 min) and i installed it on the new HDD (45 to 50 min).
I tried first to configure the cards with the AsteriskNow GUI, but it seems that it's not possible. Then I modified the /etc/zaptel.conf.zapscan file and the file /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf.zapscan. Then I did a ztcfg -vvv. All went smooth. The light on the E1/T1 cards switched from OFF to green.
Then i tested an internal phone to see if i could have an invitation tone (after pressing 0). Ok, the tone was there then I tried a call. The result: AsteriskNOW rejected it, good! Since I have not yet configured the extensions!
Then I tried an incoming call (from pstn), result: AsteriskNOW rejected it! Good! Since there is no incoming rule. Now I just have to configure my dialplan, extension, rules and all will be fine because I have successfully completed some tests on a dummy extension.
Thank you to you guys from AsteriskNOW !
